On January 13, Sturgeon Rural Crime Watch Board was invited to attend the RCMP OCC (Operations Command Centre) and the RTOC (Real Time Operations Centre). A sincere thank you goes to Chris Spense and his staff for a very informative and engaging tour.
This facility is the only one of its kind in Canada and plays a critical role in supporting frontline members by providing real-time intelligence, coordination and situational awareness. The technology and teamwork on display highlight what a powerful tool this is for crime prevention, public safety and rapid response, particularly for rural communities across Alberta. We are grateful for the opportunity to see firsthand how these resources help keep our communities safe.
After the Command Center visit, the board made its way to Bistro Di Madre Piccola in Morinville for our annual Christmas Turkey dinner. We were pleased to meet up with our valued Law Enforcement Board Members, Matt Robinson from Protective Services and Jennifer Penner, Safe Communities Coordinator as well as our valued Councillors Deanna Stang and Richard Boissonnneault.
A very big thank you to Deptee and his staff for a fantastic Turkey dinner and some great conversation around the Table.
